Good morning...good night.

Last night, after a delicious indian dinner I came home and started chatting with Bruce online. Later on, Cres, Bernie, Britt and I hung out with Kelly and started ichatting all together. It was a very interesting night. I guess you can say I kinda miss NY.

Decent Exposures

After sleeping at Carrie's I woke up to her kidnapping me and taking me to LI so we could get sushi and she could go to her Dr. appt. We had a silly drive and laughed a lot. That song 'Tonight's Gonna Be A Good Night' must have come on the radio 7x during our drives. Kind of ridiculous. I got home, took a shower and called the airport, in hopes of postponing my Taiwan trip, in an effort to miss typhoon season. They wanted $380 additional to change my flight. I said fuck that. So I am still leaving on September 1st. Our friend Zach was having his first solo photography show at 6 in the lower west side, so we had to make that. I read a couple of article's about it, it was on the radio and the news!! I am so proud of Zach! He takes pictures of naked people in busy city places like the subway, chinatown, times sq...etc. Basically, the model takes off their clothes for 30 seconds and Zach takes 10 shots. He keeps bail money on hand and his lawyers number on speed dial. Anyway, the show was really great! I dragged Nathan out, and Kate came to meet up. Afterward, Kate and I went for a walk to get some food. She told me about the new man in her life, and said she had met him on an online dating site that is free to join and send messages. I was curious so I joined last night and have already been talking to people. I feel like a huge dork, but it is so hard to meet people.

Art and Ambien?

Thursday night Carrie and I finally had a chat. It had to be done. We have been a bit on the rocks for most of the summer. I have just been really busy hanging out with an impressive array of people and didn't realize how much she needed/depended on me. I am flattered, I guess. It is nice to be needed. Anyway, I had made plans to go to Sean's and paint/take ambien. I forgot the ambien, so I went over and wanted to paint/collage anyway. He wasn't up for it. He is a fair-weathered artist. He needs to be induced by chemicals in order to feel like being artistic. I ain't down with that, no sir. Anyway, we hung out and watched American Psycho. I don't know what is going on between us, but I think he is cute. I think he might be scared of me cause the last time I slept over I hit him. I don't remember doing so, however. And there has never been a time before when I hit without being asked. I am a little girl trapped in a big girl's body. Anyway, I think I am going to stop hanging out with Sean. We haven't even had sex and its already a little awkward being around him. Oh well, I tried.

Reality Robert

Thursday morning I hopped on a train back into the city to interview reality Robert for PTTV. I met up with Alex and Ariel in midtown and we went up to Robert's office. Robert must have looked up info about PTTV because he seemed to be well versed in the ethos of our organization. This knowledge of us led to a less interesting interview, however it lead to more neutral, less conspiracy based communication. Anyway, I think I am really beginning to love conducting interviews. I think it would be really cool if I could make a documentary and travel to a bunch of places to try to debunk some social institution/group.

After our interview, me and the girls got some Korean food and I hopped on a train back to LI. Lauren picked me up at the train and I made a fire and mojitos in the back yard. We read ghost stories and played music and later on Carrie came over. It was a nice semi-laid back evening with some good drinks and some good girls.

In a Cloud of Cat Piss

Wow. I have got a lot of catching up to do. Last Friday, my dad gave me the crazy idea to go to Greenport from Saturday to Sunday. Carrie and I got a ride back to LI and were ready to go the next morning, but he cancelled. We decided not to let it get us down, and went out to Montauk. We got a delicious lunch at Gossman's on the water. I tried steemers for the first time ever. They were SO good. We then drove into the Hamptons and walked around for a bit. Jani was working so we went out and visited him, and then drove back to H-ton. We made a stop at MC's and then hit the hay.

Sunday was a gorgeous day, so I talked Carrie into going to the beach with me. We met up with Julia and Nicole, Julia's sister Jackie and their friends Max and Sean. We had a really great day and the water was perfect. After that, me and Carrie went to Tula Kitchen in Bayshore to get a drink or two before Kim's birthday party. Kristen was working and hooked us up big time. We met up with Craig and one of his friends and brought them to Kim's, which was held at La Tavola in Sayville. Kim was absolutely radiant and we all hung out outside for a while and laughed and caught up.

After that, Carrie, Craig, Lauren and I headed back to my house so we could eat burgers and pass out. What a full weekend.

Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head

Last night I met up with Dan, my great friend who lived in Montreal for a while. He just moved to Halifax for his masters in this Fisherman Science program. He is so multifaceted. Quite possibly the smartest guy I know. Anyway, Carrie slept over last night and this morning we got bagels before I dropped her off this morning. Her car got broken into last night. Right out side of her apt. Kind of ridiculous. I mean, they even took her contacts and mix CD's. I think maybe it was someone who knew her, cause why would someone take stuff like that, which is SO personal. I mean, I understand taking someone's gps or ipod, but not that stuff.

Anyway, I had a meeting with my new boss today. I finished all my paperwork and I am pretty much ready to start working, just as soon as the Nov semester begins. I got the textbook for one of the classes I am teaching today. Pretty stoked. I also got to catch up with my friend Karyn (who got me the job) for a bit. I am really excited to start teaching.

After that, I went to Kim's for a bit of band practice. Everything seems to be coming along nicely. After that, I went to Jen and Will's to plan Jen and I's circle line cruise. She is taking me on one for my grad/birthday. We also went to her job for drinks. I can't believe the guido's she works with. I would never be able to deal with that.

I am exhausted. They must be having some sort of Winona Ryder sort of marathon lately on encore because movies starring her are all that seems to be on. Oh well.

Cutting a 13 Track Album

Yesterday I recorded in my bedroom for 7+ hours. I wrote a new song, learned a new song and finished up an old one. I titled the CD 'Naked Friday' cause its just a bunch of rough copies for Kim and Lauren to practice with.

After having to file a noise complaint against the church across the street, I went over to Carrie's. She just got back from PA. We went to sweet ups and then R bar. We got caught in a downpour in between. Later on, I beat it and went to Sam's house warming right by McKibbin. I could never live there, its like a dorm building with rowdier students and higher ceilings. The apt next to Sam's got robbed and ransacked last night. Fuck that shit. It made me happy to be 5 blocks west of there (not even).

I got into some really interesting sociological discussions with some strangers last night. I got the feeling that (hopefully) that will be what my classes will be like to teach. Once again, though I guess I get boring when at parties and have the same conversation with everyone. I am good with one on one, then my conversations have a purpose and lead to something more profound. I hate having to feel like I have to start at square one with everyone, it is a lot of work. Just an observation.

Explosions in the Sky

Last night I went to see Explosions in the Sly with the Castinettes and the Constantines. Wihle I was waiting on line, it started downpouring. Mind you I was all alone with no friends to complain about it with. Everything on me was soaking wet. I am surprised my phone made it. Later on, Carrie and Audrey showed up and it kept raining. We went to go buy panchos when we got in, but the guy 5 people in front of us got the last one. We stood and complained under two black umbrellas for a while. Then we complained a little more. Finally the sun came out and we went to sit on the bleachers. The show from then on was pretty great, after we got over being cold and wet for a while. Explosions was great. I have always wanted to see them. They are so soothing and mellow. Just what I needed. Watch this guy in the while dance.

Sahara East and BCC

Last night Carrie, Anna, Kristen and Jason all came out to the hookah bar for my birthday. We sat out on the back patio/tent, which was pretty neat and almost felt like walking into the saharan desert. We got some hummus, sangria and hookah. It was delish. It was nice to have a little intimate gang of us. After that, we went to BCC and got some slushies. A few more people showed up and I made friends with a guy who has my birthday and is very much like me. It was really strange. We are supposed to go for coffee, but that may have just been me assuming things because I was drunk.

Convocation

This morning I woke up mad early to go to my convocation for M.A. candidates. It was a long and boring ceremony, but there were some high points during good speeches that almost brought a tear to my eye.

They served champagne afterward at the reception, with strawberries and creme dip. It was fabulous. We stood outside in the beautiful weather on the lovely campus drinking and smuggling bottles of champagne. It was glorious. Tomorrow, another one of these assemblies will ensue for the commencement ceremony.

After our strawberries and champagne, my mom, Carrie, and Katherine and I all went to amsterdam to get some grub. We had a lovely lunch and then came home and napped. Woke up around 8:30 and headed out to SEA for dinner. Yummy.

On a different note, I just found out last night that Kristen is moving out during the first week of July. It makes me kind of sad, because I really love living with her and spending time with her. She truly is an amazing person. It is really awesome that I am so lucky to have gotten to live with someone who I get along with on so many levels. Someone I can go to art galleries with, do topless collages and take ambien with. I hope my next roomie is as cool, however that is a really tall order.

I Love Wifey

We spent the day together and she kept me company while I researched. A rainy day at its finest. Here is an old pic she came across. She said this pic defines our personalities perfectly. lol.

Day 2 at Universal.

Today we went back to Universal. I went on a few rides I have never been on before. It was pretty snazzy. I have been a bit depressed though. Throughout the whole trip the weather has been kind of flaky and not very cooperative with my wishes. It was pretty cold today and although the weather is nicer than NY it was still pretty blustery.

On another note, I feel as if school has already begun. Class starts for me again on Tuesday (the day of the inauguration). I have my phone interview on Sunday and have to study and read for that. Ugh. This weekend will be my last weekend of freedom WOOHOO. However, I have this new thing where I don't sweat the small stuff cause its all small stuff. I decided not to be as much as a perfectionist as I have been. I think this new life strategy will give me less forehead wrinkles later in life. Definitely a perk.

I have a fun weekend planned. Tomorrow night I am meeting up with my old friend Caleb and we're going to discuss music. He just started a solo project and he wants me to throw down some jazzy vocals. (See, good things come to those who quit smoking)

Sunday night, after I kick ass on my phone interview, I will be going to Carrie's 2nd birthday party. I believe Kim and Billy will be joining me and Kim will sleep over. That will be sweet.

Monday I will be focusing on getting rid of my hang over, and at night I have a date with a guy who is bad news, err..well, he used to be bad news...now he cleaned his act up and asked me to go to dinner and get all dressed up. I am eager to see how this goes. I haven't been on a date in SO long.

I guess you could say I am actually excited to go home. I won't be too happy getting off the plane and stepping into snow, but whatever, I got reasons to make me happy to be back in NY.
